Chicken Feed, a Faceplant, and a Happier Ending
We headed over to my friend Simon’s house yesterday for his daughter Grace’s 7th birthday. Evie loved feeding the chickens (including a bunch of 3-day-old chicks, not visible in the pictures).

There was a fantastic moonbounce in the front yard (I think these are called “bouncy castles” in the UK), so Emma decided to let Evie go down the slide solo. The first run went great, which I didn’t catch on tape. Evie’s second solo run, however, was a little bit of a catastrophe:
After a few seconds of bawling, Evie was game enough to try again, though this time on Emma’s lap. Things went much better.

That beautifully executed inverted twist is the kind of thing that could win an episode of America’s Funniest Home videos!

Bouncy Castles in Oz too! Looks like great fun and Evie looks a natural amongst the chooks.

I’m so glad you included the second video, as the first one broke my heart, poor Evie, expecting a fun slide and then tipping over like that, but clearly enjoyed the slide with Emma later.
As Evie so loved the hens , is this one step closer to a hen run in the new garden?

I know its cruel, but I just can’t stop watching the first clip, and laughing out loud every time – and I’m with Lorelei, this is a definite winner for America’s Funniest videos.

Evie’s happy to provide entertainment — I think we watched it about 50 times and laughed every time. Also, when Elliette was poorly, it was just about the only thing that made her laugh!
